Our Review Video
Most Common Complaints
We’ve summarized the most common criticisms below and added our own experience in agreement or disagreement with the complaint.
Criticism | Our Experience |
---|---|
Quick wear on sunshade | We also found a hole in the sunshade fabric on the back of the stroller that appeared after only a few months. |
No sides to bock sun | True. When the seat is fully upright it is parallel with the frame and there are no “sides” that serve to block the sun. |
Not a smooth ride | The Besrey ranked 14th out of 20 strollers in our ride smoothness measurement. |
Chemical smell | We did not notice any odors in the unboxing and assembly process. |
Stroller folds up when it shouldn’t | Not for us |
The seat doesn’t fully recline | The Besrey reclines down to 32 degrees which certainly isn’t flat and also isn’t as much of a recline level as many of the strollers in the group. |
Fabric is difficult to clean | We haven’t had any problem cleaning the fabric. |
The cup holder rotates and spills | The cup holder does rotate freely and you have to be careful not to bump it. |
Difficult to buckle | The buckle is a little bit stiff but comparatively easy to operate. |
Testing and Research
Although the Besrey does not have a high sales volume in the United States, it floated to the top in our research process with positive customer reviews. It also met our weight criteria, so we purchased it along with 19 other strollers and compared them to each other in more than 100 tests and measurements. Our team and their kids use the Besrey and add to our experience over time.
Weight and Folded Size
The umbrella strollers and lightweight strollers in this group are 20 lbs and under. The Besrey is in the middle of the group at 14.4 lbs and 2.9 ft3 in folded size. It measures 20 x 25 x 10 inches folded which is larger than most airlines accept in an overhead bin.

Like most lightweight, small-wheeled strollers, it does not perform as well on rough terrain.
This stroller tends to pull to the side more than most strollers in the group. It’s not especially noticeable unless it’s a pet peeve of yours. There are no wheel locks to keep the front wheels pointed straight. Tendency to Veer:

If you are going to be using the Besrey on relatively smooth surfaces without a ton of maneuvering you’ll be happy with it because it steers easily. But taking all maneuverability tests into account, the Besrey scores in the middle of the pack.

Ease of Use
For a stroller in its weight category, the Besrey has a good-sized storage basket that is 0.63 ft3. The opening is 14 inches across in the back and we could fit a stuffed backpack diaper bag in it.

Dream On Me |
In addition to the basket, there is a handy small item pocket that is attached to the canopy fabric. I like that the pocket uses a magnet to close. It is strong; I have to give it a firm tug to open it which provides peace of mind that things won’t bounce out of the pocket.
There is a small but adequately sized peekaboo window that also has a magnet to keep it closed.
The parent cup holder is great. But we found that you have to be careful not to bump it because it swivels and tip and spill your drink. The plastic top ring of the cup holder expands to fit larger water bottles up to about 4 inches in diameter.
The handlebar feels soft and is covered in a stitched leather material. I’m not sure if it is actually leather or faux leather.
The handle is not adjustable in height and is 39.5 inches high which is a typical pushing height but may feel low for some parents. As you can see in the picture below, the canopy fabric rests on the handle when the canopy is closed. I didn’t like the feel of the canopy rubbing my knuckles when pushing the stroller.
The handlebar wiggles just a little bit where it is connected to the frame. It doesn’t feel like it is going to fall apart but also doesn’t feel completely rigid.
We loved the user manual with very clear text and diagrams together on the same pages. The setup time was an amazing 4 minutes.
The shoulder harness clips and hip harness clips are separate. You can put them together and they stay together well so that buckling only requires putting two clips in instead of four. It works better than the buckles on some other strollers in the group.
The strap material is soft which is nice for baby’s skin and usually helpful in adjusting the harnesses. I still have to fiddle some with the shoulder and hip harnesses to adjust their lengths. Adjusting the shoulder strap heights requires threading through the slots. The good news is that you can put your hands on the front and back of the seat to work the harness through the slots. The bad news is that it was more difficult than I thought it should be to slide the retaining clips through the slots.
The seat back reclines with a single hand by pressing the white button and pulling on the black box as I demonstrate below. It takes two hands to push the seat back up. It has “infinite” reclining positions.
The stroller has a single rear brake pedal that stops both rear wheels. It works well when you press it down fully. Sometimes I would try to press it and not get it fully engaged. Also to release the brake you have to push up with the top of your foot. It was slightly uncomfortable in bare feet, but not the worst.
There’s a nice travel bag included with a long adjustable strap. The strap would be better with a shoulder pad!
The Besrey comes in Lightblueand Lightgrey. The colors are similar but one is often less expensive than the other.
It does not support car seat adapters or infant car seats. There is a double stroller version available on the Besrey site.
Folding and Transport
Our “How to fold the Besrey” video:
The Besrey is a true one-hand-fold stroller. To fold you pull the white bar in on the handle, then roll the handle forward which causes the stroller to release and fold forward. To make the stroller stay closed you need to slide a plastic piece on the frame into the latch, as shown in our video above.

Collapsing the stroller is easy but it takes about 5 seconds on average.
The stroller stays securely folded until you release the latch. It can stand up when folded.
In the picture below the bumper bar, or guardrail as Besrey calls it, was left attached to the stroller when folded. This makes it easier to pull folded and let it roll on its rear wheels.
As we mentioned earlier, this stroller is about 20 x 25 inches folded in width and height. It fits fine in most vans and car trunks but there are many strollers that have a more compact fold.
Unfolding requires lifting the plastic latch, sliding the button down, then pulling up on the handle. Unfolding takes about 4 seconds.
Kid Comfort
We measured the level of vibration and bumpiness in the seat to compare strollers based on ride comfort. The Besrey performed in the bottom half in Smoothness of Ride:

The soft guardrail or bumper bar that is included with the Besrey provides additional safety and kids like to hang onto it.
The seat is not sized for bigger kids. The seat depth is only 8.5 inches, and the seat back height is 18.5 inches. The manufacturer recommends the stroller for children between 6 months and 36 months. Other strollers in this group accommodate bigger, older children.
The Besrey has mesh built into the canopy for additional airflow.
One trick we discovered was rolling up the canopy fabric in the back and using the magnet of the small item pocket to hold it up. See below:
Notice that there is a zipper between the handles. When unzipped it leaves a gap for more airflow without doing the rollup trick.
The seat padding foam feels like memory foam. It is of higher quality than the padding of most other strollers we’ve tested.
The seat reclines back to 32 degrees which is ok for naps but not as far as many other strollers. There is a leg rest as shown below that can be raised for a flat surface under the legs.
In its fully upright position, the seat back is still only 55 degrees. We prefer seats that are 65 to 70 degrees so children are not to far reclined in the normal sitting position.
The canopy, or sunshade, extends pretty far forward so sun coverage is adequate from the top. But the seat doesn’t have sides, so it is missing sun protection from the sides on the shoulders, neck, and arms.
The shoulder and crotch harnesses are padded with very soft edges and the straps are silky, so the harness doesn’t cause skin irritation.
Unfortunately, there are no kid cup holders, snack trays, or snack cups!
Quality and Safety
The texture and feel of the fabric on this stroller are stylish and give it a luxurious feel. But two things have caused it to lose its charm.
A small hole quickly developed in the canopy fabric where apparently there is some rubbing when the stroller is folded:
And secondly, although the fabric looks nice initially, the canopy, especially, starts looking very wrinkled after being folded.
Nevertheless, we do believe that most of the parts and materials of the Besrey are high quality. We haven’t had any problems with the folding mechanism, zippers, velcro, snaps or canopy hinges.

The wheels do not seem to have spring suspension. They have ball bearings and turn smoothly. However, the tread is EVA foam that isn’t very thick.

In our backward tip-over test, the Besrey did not tip when we hung a 12-pound bag on the handle. The majority of strollers did tip over in this test.
The Besrey also performed well in sideways tip-over safety. It was one of the top 4 strollers when we measured the force required to tip over to the side. Tip-over Units:

Because pinching is a risk factor in strollers we looked for pinch points where little fingers could get pinched or trapped in moving parts like the canopy hinge or folding hinge. We did find a few places where pinching can occur and we give Besrey 8 out of 10 stars in this category.
The Besrey has a 5-point harness and bumper bar that reduce the potential for falling out of the stroller.
Overall the Besrey meets our standards as a high-quality stroller and we don’t believe there is a disconnect between the quality level and price point.
Besrey vs UPPAbaby Minu V2
The Besreyand UPPAbaby Minu V2 are similarly priced strollers with stylish looks and nice features.
The Minu V2 is 2.5 lbs heavier than the Besrey and bigger when folded.
The storage baskets are about the same size and both have small-item pockets and peekaboo windows.
We like the Minu’s buckle and harness operations better than the Besrey’s.
The strollers have similar scores in maneuverability, kid comfort, and ease of use. The Besrey has more comfortable seats but the Minu seat sits at a better upright angle.
The Minu has better wheels and a better pinch rating.
Overall, the main difference in scoring for the two strollers came down to the Besrey’s lighter weight and small size which makes it more versatile overall. Still, the UPPAbaby is a great choice in this category.
